Privacy
No cookies, no ad trackers.
Just a mailing list.
Last updated: October 5, 2026
Casa Capón is a blog and a mailing list. Nothing more complicated than that is going on here. This page covers what we collect when you sign up, who else sees it, and how to get it corrected or deleted.
Who we are
Casa Capón is a Peruvian sauce brand, and casacapon.com is our site. Questions about this page, or about what we have on you, go to hola@casacapon.com.
What we collect
Two things.
- What you type into the signup form. First name, last name, email address. We also save the date you signed up and the page you signed up from, so we can tell whether people join from the homepage or from a recipe. That page is just an address like /blog/aji-amarillo. No cookies are involved and we are not following you around the site. Nothing here asks for a phone number, an address, or a card.
- The ordinary data a web server sees. Cloudflare hosts this site, so Cloudflare sees what any host sees: your IP address, your browser, the page you asked for, and when you asked for it. That is what delivers the site, keeps the bots off it, and gives us our traffic counts.
Why we collect it
To email you. When the lomo saltado sauce opens for presale, when something new launches, and when we publish a recipe or a story worth your time. We do not use any of it to build advertising profiles, and we do not email you about anybody else's products.
Who else handles it
Two companies, and only for the work described above.
- Cloudflare. Hosts the site, holds the subscriber list in its database, and counts our traffic.
- [Email service provider — not yet selected]. Sends the emails you signed up for. We have not picked one yet, so right now your details sit in the Cloudflare database and no email company has them. We'll name the provider here before the first email goes out.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not trade it for anybody else's marketing either. The only exception would be a law that forces us to hand something over.
How long we keep it
We keep your details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Then you are off the list. We may hold on to the bare fact that you asked to leave, so nobody accidentally adds you back later.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the link at the bottom of any email we send. It works straight away.
- Ask us what we have. Email hola@casacapon.com and we will tell you, correct it, or delete it. You will hear back within 30 days, usually a lot sooner. There is no form to fill in and no charge.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. There is no ad network, no Meta pixel, no Google Analytics, and nothing to log into.
For traffic numbers we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which was built to work without cookies. It loads one small script and reports totals: page views, where visitors arrived from, country, rough device and browser type, how fast pages loaded. No cookie, no fingerprinting, no following anyone to other sites. We see numbers, not people.
Cloudflare itself may set a security cookie at the network level to tell humans apart from bots. That is plumbing rather than marketing, which is why you are not reading this through a cookie banner.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. Nobody ever agreed on what a site is supposed to do about it, so we do not treat those visits any differently. There is also nothing here to opt out of: the cross-site tracking that Do Not Track was built to stop is not happening on this site, whatever your browser asks for.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child has signed up, write to hola@casacapon.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If any of this changes, we rewrite the page and change the date at the top. If the change is a real one and we have your email address, you will hear it from us too.
Anything else
Write to hola@casacapon.com.
